Hi. I’m Loris Anne James and welcome to my BreathingBook blog. I’ve been working on this “blog” since December of 2009 and it’s been extremely rewarding. I’ve always been a fan of going deeper into God’s Words to find the hidden meanings within its pages. That’s the rewarding part, because as I’ve stumbled around through the years I found links that were missing from the reference bibles I’d buy at the store. At first I just dismissed this, but then God began proving these links out to me as I searched deeper and deeper. I found that when God proves something to you, He’s persistent and it’s unmistakable. He has a way of bringing it back to you over and over again. God can be very persistent when He wants to be.
Years ago, when I was first getting started into this, I thought, gee, what would be the perfect study book for me? I thought about it and decided that constantly looking back and forth for the references was time consuming and although I loved the results, I was repeating myself and not moving forward with what I’d already gained. In other words, I’d study, gain knowledge, and time (or the devil) would slip it away from me. So I wrote Going Deeper: A Chronological Word Study of the Four Gospels. That book contains 832 pages of James Strong’s Greek (and some Hebrew) definitions placed immediately within the text and all that going back and forth was gone.
And I moved to a different level in my understanding as I went even deeper.
Just working on Going Deeper: A Chronological Word Study of the Four Gospels actually carried me to another level as worked through its pages, over and over, editing it and looking for errors. In the years since, I’ve gone through the rest of the New Testament, perusing definitions, following up on references, more of same and then some new tactics, etc. And so, as He does in all of my prayerful studies, God responded to me. This may sound very strange to you, but this Breathing Book (because it ever grows and changes as new insights come in) or blog (which sounds so simplistic since there’s SO much that goes into it) is a driven kind of thing.
I say driven because I have put it on the shelf, insisted to God that I couldn’t do it anymore, many times. As you might imagine (if you’ve experienced any amount of spiritual warfare) this “blog” has a very high “cost” factor for me. This was helpful (to say the least) in the writing of the Job Studies, because instruction in the Lord often comes about as experience. And God helped me to “understand’ Job (a study that has a lot more to offer than meets the eye).
So, indeed BreathingBook has actually become a world-wide witness of my hope and journey with the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my God and Savior. He is mysterious in all His ways. He is loving and compassionate. One of the many reasons why I feel compelled to spend hours writing these articles is VASTY because I see readers coming from all over the world to visit this website. They return daily and week after week.
When I wrote Going Deeper: A Chronological Word Study of the Four Gospels I told myself that if I could just impact one person positively for Jesus Christ then I would be doing something good (putting money into God’s bank, so to speak). Well, now, more than one person has been impacted and even if I never meet them or even hear from them or you, the blog is still a good thing. God has given me understanding. It is a gift that I must share.
